]]>Have you ever wondered how rosés are made since vineyards don’t grow roségrapes? There are four ways to produce rosés....limited skin maceration, direct pressing, saignée method and blending.
Limited skin maceration is a process similar to making red wines....the grapes are crushed and left in contact with the skins. With rosé, the maceration time is shorter, usually hours or days as opposed to weeks or months. The juice is then drawn from the skins and the wine begins the fermentation process.
Direct pressing is when the juice is pressed from the grapes with little to no contact with the skins, similar to white wines. This process tend seem to produce the lightest colored rosés.
Saignée method involves “bleeding” or remove some of the juice early in the maceration process of red wines. This juice goes into the fermentation process and continues its journey as a rosé.
Blending id just that.....blending white and red grapes to produce a rosé. Now it’s time to find a favorite. Sounds like a great time for a wine tasting.
]]>What I found amazing about these was not only the flavor but that they have no artificial flavors, no sugar, no carbs and made with 100% non-GMO grain. The vodka is distilled with real botanicals and infused with natural fruit essences. The ABV is lowered to 30% th keep the calories low.
During the luncheon and sampling, cocktails were offered using each of the three flavors. My favorite was called Family Fashion. It was created using the Peach and Orange Blossom spirit, elderflower liqueur, ginger liqueur and topped with a splash of sparkling wine.
As you follow Boo’s journey and continue to see the vision of this boutique evolve to a place of complete, mind, body and spirit, it will be clear why I’m so excited about Ketel One Boutanicals. Time to add seltzer to the Peach and Orange Blossom and continue shopping. Happy Boo-Zin.

A Negroni is a bitter cocktail intended to start the gastric juices flowing before a meal. It consists of three basic ingredients....gin, amaro and vermouth.
Boo’s favorite is the frozen Negroni. She enjoys these at the beach with the sand in her paws. Our recipe uses equal parts of gin, amaro and sweet vermouth, grapefruit bitters and a pinch of salt. Blend with ice and garnish with an orange swath.
Negroni week runs through Sunday June 10.
]]>Today’s cocktail uses the blanco tequila, blue curaçao, limes, fresh mint, simple syrup and club soda. I prefer to muddle the lime, mint and simple syrup before adding the tequila and blue curaçao. Shake all ingredients, pour over ice and top with club soda.

One of the companies I represent has a spice rum that seemed to me to be underrated. With a little research I chose to create a rif on a Hemingway Daiquiri.
You may ask.....how does this relate to fashion. Imagine the ocean and the palm trees wearing one of our amazing fashions and sipping on this delicious libation. The ingredients are spiced rum, maraschino liqueur, cream of coconut, lime juice and simple syrup. Combine ingredients, shake and enjoy.
